Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week. I am excited for the weekend and to get some much needed rest. I also have a couple of fun things planned for this weekend so I’m really looking forward to it. However, today I wanted to talk about something I haven’t talked about in a while and that is time management. Time management is something I had to learn really well while I was in college and it’s honestly something that has been very beneficial in my adult life as well. So today I wanted to share some of my favorite time management tips with you.

Google Calendar.
I started using my Google Calendar when I was employed by a tech junkie. Her introduction of the calendar to me honestly changed my life. I use my Outlook calendar for work because that is what my work email is set up with, but I prefer Google if I have a choice. I love that I can create individual calendars for different things like the blog, work, daily tasks, and YouTube. It helps me stay organized and helps me manage my time because I can visually see what each day looks like and how much time I have left.
Schedule the random things.

Something I started doing last year was scheduling the things I would typically schedule. This could be anything from cleaning to grocery shopping to working on a hobby. I found that once I started scheduling these things I was less likely to put them off and I also wouldn’t over schedule myself because I would know those things were coming and I could plan accordingly. It helped keep me on track and help me know when things were happening.
Prioritize.
As much as I would love to be able to do everything in one day, I know that isn’t very realistic. Some things are just more important than others. So I had to learn how to prioritize and know what things could wait and what couldn’t. Sometimes I need to push a couple of things off my to-do list to focus on myself. Sometimes I can’t spend an evening watching Netflix because I have an important task to do. It’s all about prioritizing and knowing what I need in the moment.
Say no.
I’m a people pleaser. That’s not really a surprise to anyone who really knows me. Learning to say no has been a challenge because I always want to help everyone and relieve as much stress for them as I can. But saying no and making sure I’m not over filling my plate has been huge in me being able to manage my time because I’m limiting how much I have to manage. It has been a big help.
Ask for help.
Going off of that, I also struggle with asking for help. Because I always said yes to others to relieve stress, I never wanted to add stress to anyone else so I just didn’t ask for help. But sometimes people do want to help in the same way I do and if they can they will. So it’s helped me in not having to try to do everything by myself which ultimately has saved me a lot of time. I still struggle with this one sometimes, but I’m getting better.
And that’s it! Those are my favorite time management tips. They have helped me in so many ways and I use them pretty much everyday.
